Here are a few ideas for mounting. 
Keep in mind that when mounted on a pole or other elevated position, the image plane (radials) should also be elevated. 

 

 

In the installation below, a ground strap should go from the top of the mount to the taillight area. That makes an image path more direct and more efficient.  Rather than the image path having to go to the frame and back up.  One could remove the tailight assembly and attach a ground strap without drilling holes in visible area.This mount could be a little higher for better results.  He wanted to be able to remove whip and enter garage. 

On this van, antenna lays down when hatch opened.   Ground straps are attached on both sides of hatch to rest of vehicle.

STAND OFF IS FOR A VHF ANTENNA.  I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND IT BEING THAT CLOSE TO THE HF ANTENNA.  THESE PICTURES ARE FOR IDEAS ONLY.  WE DON'T GAURANTEE ANY ENGINEERING FOR ANY MOUNTS SEEN ON THIS SITE.  THE MOUNTING POST SYSTEM WILL STAND UP IN 100 MPH WINDS, BUY YOUR MOUNT FOR THE POST MUST BE ADEQUATE.
